positive discipline parentingPeace At Home Parenting LLC is working with Dr. Beth Russell from the University of Connecticut and the Northeast Early Childhood Council to learn how helpful online classes can be for parents. We are offering free online classes about Positive Discipline to parents in the Northeast region. Each online class will be two parts and each part will last one hour. There will be a two-part class for parents of 2 – 5 year olds and another two-part class for parents of 6 – 12 year olds. Parents often say that these classes are not only enjoyable but parents feel calmer and their children cooperate more.

You can participate from your own home in the class on your smart phone, tablet or computer. You can also participate in the two-part one hour on-line classes at the Plainfield Family Resource Center located at 651 Norwich Road, Plainfield or the Putnam Family Resource Center located at 33 Wicker Street, Putnam. Free childcare provided for children ages 2 and over for the first 15 children registered at each location.

These on-line classes will be taught by Ruth Freeman, LCSW. They are live and you will have a chance to ask questions if you wish and hear about the experiences of other parents. Because these services will be evaluated by Dr. Russell, you will be asked to complete an online survey before and after the two-session classes; each survey should take less than 20 minutes. Please click on one of the courses below in order to register by April 7, 2017.
